چکیده

Abstract Background Cereals high in resistant starch (RS) are gaining popularity, as their intake is thought to help manage diabetes and prediabetes. Number of patients suffering from also increasing Asian countries where people consume rice a staple food, hence generation practically growable RS line has been anticipated. It known that suppression branching enzyme (BE) IIb increases content cereals. To further increase for more practical use, we generated non-transgenic be1 be2b double mutant ( Oryza sativa ) line, which completely lacked both proteins, by crossing with mutant. Results The showed decrease intermediate amylopectin chains an long compared . amylose (51.7%) was the highest among all pre-existing lines. understand effects chewing cooked cooking flour on content, mashed un-mashed well raw gelatinized were measured using its parent contents (28.4% 35.1%, respectively) 3-fold higher than those Gel-filtration analyses treated digestive enzymes composed degradation products chains. Seed weight approximately 60% wild type rather heavier Conclusions endosperm enriched This led great grains single this study must serve good material ultra-high cultivar.

Association between nonsynonymous mutations of starch synthase IIa and starch quality in rice (Oryza sativa).

Starch quality is one of the most important agronomic traits in Asian rice, Oryza sativa. Starch synthase IIa (SsIIa) is a major candidate gene for starch quality variation. Within SsIIa, three nonsynonymous mutations in exon 8 have been shown to affect enzyme activity when expressed in Escherichia coli. To search for the variation in SsIIa that is responsible for starch quality variation in ri...

A Putative Gene sbe3-rs for Resistant Starch Mutated from SBE3 for Starch Branching Enzyme in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Foods high in resistant starch (RS) are beneficial to prevent various diseases including diabetes, colon cancers, diarrhea and chronic renal or hepatic diseases. Elevated RS in rice is important for public health since rice is a staple food for half of the world population. A japonica mutant 'Jiangtangdao 1' (RS = 11.67%) was crossed with an indica cultivar 'Miyang 23' (RS = 0.41%). The mutant ...

Starch Properties and Structure of A Wheat Mutant High in Resistant Starch

Starch properties and structure of a wheat mutant (WRS-1) high in resistant starch (RS) was compared to that of the wild type (Sumai No.6). In cooked hot flour and retrograded flour, the amounts of RS in mutant WRS-1 were 7.8 and 9.4 times of wild type (0.5 in hot flour and 0.6 in retrograded flour), respectively, and correspondingly the slower and incomplete starch hydrolysis was also in both ...
